Hairline Correction – How to Get a Natural-Looking Forehead
The hairline is one of the most important features that define our face. A good hairline design is a truly artistic endeavor that requires skill, judgment and a keen eye for what looks natural. Unfortunately, a large percentage of our work at the Lam Institute is correcting bad hairline surgery done by surgeons who don’t understand what makes a natural-looking forehead.
Some patients are born with a low or high hairline that is not in balance with the rest of their face, and many people experience a rapid loss of their natural hairline with age. A receding hairline is common, and there are many treatment options available to help restore the natural beauty of the hairline.
Hairline correction is a cosmetic procedure that involves the placement of new hairs at the front of the scalp to change the shape and position of the hairline. A skilled hair transplant surgeon can create a natural-looking, sculpted forehead that enhances the facial shape and size and creates balance with the rest of the face. The result is a more youthful, attractive appearance that may improve self-esteem and confidence.
Many people are self-conscious about a high or large forehead and feel that it detracts from their facial appearance. They may try to camouflage their forehead by wearing long hair or using various hats and scarves. However, a hairline lowering or forehead reduction (also called scalp advancement) surgery is a simple and effective way to reduce the size of the forehead for a more balanced look. 부산탈모
It is important to note that while a hairline lowering or forehead reduction procedure can be done as a stand-alone operation, it is usually combined with a brow lift in order to create an overall more balanced and harmonious appearance of the upper face. This is particularly true for younger patients who may require a brow lift to raise the drooping or lower the eyebrows that have become asymmetrical as a result of aging or genetics.
During the hairline lowering or forehead reduction procedure, the plastic surgeon will make an incision on the scalp to loosen the hair-bearing scalp tissues and move them forward anywhere from 1 to 3 centimeters. This is typically done under local anesthesia or mild sedation.
The result is a naturally lowered or repositioned hairline that will blend seamlessly with the existing eyebrows and other existing hairs. It is also important to note that a good surgeon will not simply “create” a straight line across the forehead as this would not be a natural-looking feature, but rather will place follicular units in a random and irregular pattern that is more reminiscent of the “doll” type hairline seen on some celebrities. Keeping in mind that each patient has unique facial features and skin laxity, the experienced surgeon will consider these factors when designing the new hairline and determining how the final results will look in relation to the existing eyebrows and other hairs on the head. 청담모바로의원
